Update from James Caldwell – Oldham Athletic Development Centre’s DC Manager
It is with great pleasure and pride I get to give out our final end of season review as the Oldham Athletic's Development Centre Manager. Over the past 3 years I have been tasked with developing and supporting young players from across the North West with the aim of providing an opportunity to develop talent towards organised Academy or Semi-Professional Football.
This will be our final review as the centre will close and no longer represent Oldham Athletic Football Club as of the 15th May 2023. Whilst the end of a significant period of time developing players for one Football Club its been an opportunity to reflect and review on not just this season but also the last 3 years.
Onto this current season for our first reflection we look at the number of players who this season have graduated from the programme to either Academy or Semi-Professional Football

To date 16 players have now signed this season, combined with the 24 players in 21-22 and 16 players in 20-21 meaing in three seasons 56 players have now signed agreements with clubs as part of the programme. This doesn't include players who have completed agreements at clubs after leaving the programme.
In three season 422 players have come through the programme, equating to around 13% of all players we have worked with, or over 1 in 10 players that signed onto the programme went on to sign for either Academies or Semi-Professional Football clubs.
As we now complete our final season as part of the Oldham Athletic FC family, we want to wish all parents, players, supporters, opponents and officials that have supported our work our deepest thanks and gratitude for their support.
